The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has identified 424 telecom blackspots spanning 1,750 km on highways and expressways, impacting emergency communication. The authority has urged the telecom regulator TRAI to direct operators to improve connectivity, especially on greenfield and remote sections, to enhance road user safety and coordination.
