The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee has stepped in to support skeleton racer Katie Uhlaender after a controversial Olympic qualifying event. The USOPC has asked for Uhlaender to be given a special discretionary place at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games in February. The move is aimed at protecting what the committee described as her Olympic dream after a disputed race in Lake Placid.
