State-owned Nalco is transitioning its power-intensive smelting operations to renewable energy, planning 200-300 MW of green power with battery storage to ensure reliable supply and cut carbon emissions. This move aims to produce green aluminium, despite higher green power tariffs, and supports the company’s expansion projects and cost-cutting initiatives.
