An Indian-origin man, Subramanyam Vedam, who spent 43 years in prison before his murder conviction was overturned, has been denied bail while he fights deportation. Vedam, who came to the US legally as an infant, remains in immigration custody due to a past felony drug conviction, despite his lawyer arguing he is not a danger to the community.
