David Luan, head of Amazon AI Lab, is departing the e-commerce giant. He joined Amazon two years ago through an acqui-hire of his startup Adept. Luan led Amazon’s agents R&D and its San Francisco AI lab. He is leaving to focus entirely on teaching AI systems new capabilities. Luan previously incubated GPTs at OpenAI and led agent development at Adept.
