In their game on Sunday against the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings forward Elmer Soderblom sustained a scary cut on his face after he was struck with a puck on his face. This was during the first period, and he was forced to step out of the ice momentarily. Soderblom later came back wearing a full face shield, although it was bleeding visibly.
