Italian regulator to investigate in-app purchase systems of Microsoft Activision Blizzard’s two most popular games

Italy’s competition watchdog has launched two probes into Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard unit. Investigations focus on alleged misleading and aggressive tactics used to boost in-app purchases in popular mobile games Diablo Immortal and Call of Duty: Mobile. Regulators are concerned these practices may violate consumer protection laws and foster gambling-like behaviors among players, including minors.
