Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil was arrested late Saturday night in connection with a third rape case following Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s direct intervention. The CM acted after receiving an urgent voice message from the complainant expressing fear for her family’s safety. The arrest was conducted confidentially to prevent the accused from evading justice.
