A 79-year-old man, Sharif Ahmad, presumed dead for nearly 30 years, returned to his hometown of Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar. He had moved to West Bengal after his second marriage in 1997 and lost contact with his family. Ahmad’s return was prompted by the need to collect documents for West Bengal’s electoral roll revision.
