Clashes erupted between supporters of Shiv Sena’s Meenakshi Shinde and rebel candidate Bhushan Bhoir during Thane civic polls. Allegations of armed mobilization and chilli powder attacks were exchanged. Protesters even intercepted a bus carrying ballot boxes. Police have since brought the situation under control and ensured ballot boxes reached the strongroom.
