Injuries have plagued J.J. McCarthy’s NFL career even before it started. This has led PFSN’s Ryan Guthrie to suggest Vikings could consider acquiring Mac Jones. Jones, who filled in for San Francisco 49ers injured quarterback Brock Purdy in 2025, offers QB competition and valuable insurance for the injury-prone McCarthy. His performance with the 49ers could potentially elevate the Vikings back into NFC contention. Something that the Vikings have been at loss since McCarthy became their quarterback. They even lost Sam Darnold to Seattle Seahawks. Darnold went on to win a Super Bowl for the Seahawks.
